Pinaki Studios is a London based creative textile studio that navigates between and around the worlds of art and design. Working in collaboration with other organizations and companies we research the intersections of art and design.
We work with a combination of highly abrasive printing and manipulation textile techniques - both traditional and new - to obtain delicate effects, which turn into surfaces, costumes, mysterious objects and creatures, products for cinema, fashion, interiors, window displays...
Embracing consultancy, collaborative work and our own research - which ranges from creating textile surfaces to art based installation projects- we produce commissions, special editions or one off pieces.
Biography
Arantza Vilas has worked as a textile designer/artist since her graduation from Central St. Martins College of Art & Design, London, where in 2002 she obtained her Master of Arts in Design for Textile Futures.
In her professional life thus far, she has created distinctive, multi-purpose textiles successfully marrying the worlds of art & design, commerce & academics that have always intrigued her.
